A Band of What You Say? A Band of Wives? Huh?

Well, that was exactly my reaction – initially. And I didn’t do any research to fully understand the concept and the meaning behind this “Band of Wives”. However, a very trusted soul sister, Beate Chelette, not only encouraged me to attend a meeting at her home in Los Angeles, but insisted I attend. And I’m soooo glad I did! You’ll understand why after you tune in to The Dr Marilyn Joyce Show on March 31st, 2013!

Immediately after meeting the amazing women behind this paradigm shifter for women, I became a member. Heck, it’s free! So what did I have to lose…Right?

Raw Chocolate: Food For Your Body – And Your Soul

It’s 12/21/12 – The End Of The Mayan Calendar & You’re Still Alive!

Today is December 21st, 2012! And It’s The End Of The Mayan Calendar! Now What?

Let’s face it, we can come from FEAR (False Expectations Appearing Real), or we can come from the possibility of a brave new world founded on love and compassion and positive co-creation for the good of all – free from the shackles of the old faulty paradigm based on fear, hatred, greed and control of the masses by the few. Which do you choose?

Based on the extraordinary vibrational energetic frequencies we experienced on 12/12/12 (see below for the link to the explanation of that frequency), and the even more expansive possibilities presented within the vibrational frequencies of today, we have a Universe of transformative possibilities awaiting us. So, it makes total sense to let go of the FEAR paradigm used by those in power for centuries to manipulate, control, divide and conquer the unsuspecting unaware souls, and focus on and expand into a new paradigm based on love, compassion and co-creation…

12:12:12 – What Do These Numbers Mean To Us?

Numerology Gives Us The Hidden and Powerful Meaning Behind 12:12:12! (audio recording below)

Not sure if I shared with you that in my past life I worked as a numerologist for both individuals and corporations – and as a reader during the wee small hours of the morning for one of the top psychic networks. And I loved every minute of this work – or rather play!

As a child I was introduced to numerology and Tarot cards by the gypsies who squatted on the back end of my Grandparents property in bonnie Scotland. It was the most fascinating experience of my life. And it has impacted my entire life ever since. So today when I headed out for my hour of power walk with the intention of simply taking in all of nature and being completely in the moment to honor and fully embrace the unique and special energy frequency of  12:12:12.

Following my inner GPS, I was guided to take a different route through the mountains – a road much less traveled – and MUCH steeper than I have taken before.  My one-hour walk became almost two hours, as I traversed the long and winding trail. What an amazing journey! Here is a photo that I took as I approached the top of the large hill/small mountain… :-)

Anyway, when I reached the top I had an epiphany, and an inspiration. I suddenly felt inspired and compelled to share the power of the meanings behind the numbers creating the unique energy frequency of this 12:12:12 day. And how blessed we are to have a recording devices built right into our phones! So on went the recorder and I began sharing my passion with you as I walked.

And another note: I forgot to mention that although the Universal “9” energy is about brother and sisterhood, and the oneness of all that exists (that I did state), it can also be experienced as the negative perspective of martyrdom. Today (and always) it is critical to come from the positive and love-based “oneness” perspective.

Holiday Season Can Be Stressful – So Have Some Fun!

When You Think Of Belly Dancing What’s The First Thought That Comes To Your Mind?

It’s that time of the year when we all add more social events to our calendars in less than 2 months than we do the entire rest of the year! Right? Believe me, I’m fully participating as well! And this year I actually went out of my way to attend some really cool events despite my workload. All worth it for sure…

This blogpost is more about reconnecting with you than anything else – because I have been out of the loop for a long while. Over this past year 11 people from my family and close inner circle left the planet, and several in freak accidents! So I found myself completely retreating – not in a bad way. Just spending a lot more time in contemplation and long walks in nature…

Until I met a lone coyote on one of my daily hour of power walks. Not the first coyote I’ve encountered, but this time we seemed to share a deeply connected exchange. Now call me insane, but I felt like during our brief eye contact “he” was giving me a message to get back out there in a deeper and more connected way than ever before.

And that’s exactly what’s been happening! I’m sure you can see by the video above that it’s also been a heck of a lot of fun as well. By the way, I made this little video because I didn’t believe my own eyes. I mean really – when you hear that there is going to be a belly dancer performing, what’s the first thought that runs through your mind? Voluptuous, full figured, sexy woman right?

Wrong! In this case the dancer was a very sexy, very handsome, has all the right moves, male belly dancer! He rocked the house – both men and women loved him! And Prince Andrew (stage name) is also a Dr of Ayervedic Medicine, so he has agreed to my guest on the Dr Marilyn Joyce Show in the new year…and he is completely in his element in everything he’s doing. 

So the main message here is really to follow your passion, your calling…no matter how off the wall the rest of the world thinks it is. You’ll be healthier, happier, more fulfilled – and definitely feeling a lot less stress than the large number of people who “live by the rules”, follow the “expected” and “accepted” standards, and basically follow the herd mentality. Everything that exists in our world today was the result of innovative, creative, “out of the box” thinking and acting.

Chronic Stress Impairs Memory

How to Combat Chronic Stress and Improve Your Memory in an Instant!

The following is an excerpt from an interesting article in ScienceDaily:

ScienceDaily (Mar. 7, 2012) — Anyone who has ever been subject to chronic stress knows that it can take a toll on emotions and the ability to think clearly. Now, new research uncovers a neural mechanism that directly links repeated stress with impaired memory. The study, published by Cell Press in the March 8 issue of the journal Neuron, also provides critical insight into why stress responses can act as a trigger for many mental illnesses.

Stress hormones are known to influence the prefrontal cortex (PFC), a brain region that controls high level “executive” functions such as working memory and decision making. “Previous work has shown that chronic stress impairs PFC-mediated behaviors, like mental flexibility and attention. However, little is known about the physiological consequences and molecular targets of long-term stress in PFC, especially during the adolescent period when the brain is more sensitive to stressors,” explains the author this study, Dr. Zhen Yan, from the State University of New York at Buffalo. ”  ~Web Address:

This research is definitely important in an era when so many people of all ages are on overload and feeling tremendously “stressed out” on a regular basis. My fear is that yet another drug will be created and become the next big “miracle cure” crutch, versus taking quick and simple healthy steps to stop stress in its negative tracks!

As you’re probably aware by now, if you’ve been reading my posts over the past 18+ months, I like to cut to the chase and simplify all of the scientific jargon into practical information that anyone can understand. And provide useful tips and tools to – you guessed it! – transform your stress into energy instantly. More to the point here, is that in doing just that, we can also stop the damaging effects of repeated or chronic stress on our memory.

Have you ever had a day or a week when you had a major project or projects to complete? (What solopreneur, author or coach hasn’t had this?) And the deadline was fast approaching! The stress was building – and your heart began racing uncontrollably as the deadline got closer and closer. The more overwhelmed you became with the fear of not making the deadline, the less focus and concentration you were able to maintain, and the more “slip of the memory” incidents you experienced. And nothing was getting done!

What did you do? Did you plow through it anyway, determined to complete it, no matter what? Or did you stop everything and step away from the project for a while? Or better yet, did you get up and move your body?

It’s critical to understand that when you feel that stress building, your body is preparing for fight – or flight. Not for you to continue sitting at your desk. You have to do something physical to release the stress. That’s what our bodies are designed to do when confronted with a stressful situation. The great news is that this action which releases your stress, also changes your state. It literally transforms your stress into energy! Productive energy! And then you’re good to go again with your project.

How can I be so sure? Because today was one of those insane days for me! So many deadlines looming over me…I could feel my head spinning and my heart racing. Even the surfacing of a slight sense of nausea. And at the same time I found myself fighting back overwhelming fatigue.

So, what did I do? Got off my seat, and on my feet, and headed out the door for a walk around the block. A fast walk! Within minutes my stress level was gone. I mean GONE! My clarity of focus returned. My concentration was full on. And no more memory blips! And the most important deadlines were reached in a timely manner. :-)

Healthy Solopreneurial Moms On The Run

How To Be A Healthy (Solopreneurial) Mom on the Run!

Well, another Mothers day has passed… And it has definitely reminded us of how important our Mothers are in our lives. Whether we loved our mom or tolerated her, hopefully much more the former than the latter, it is important to honor the fact that each and every mother does the best she can with the knowledge, experience and tools she has at the time.

Often moms don’t take time out of their hectic schedules to take care of themselves. If you’re a mom reading this, especially a solopreneur mom, working at or from home, and juggling all of your home and family responsibilities, you know what I’m talking about. The day ends all too late in the night and you never made it to the gym or into a relaxing tub (as in bathtub!). Instead, completely fatigued, you tumble numbly into bed, knowing that tomorrow will arrive far too soon!

So if I could show you easy 5-minute nutrition and fitness strategies that you can easily fit into your day – strategies that will transform your stress and fatigue into energy instantly – would you be interested? Fruit Smoothie On The Run (Serves 2)

8 oz (1 cup) soft tofu                                             1 cup vanilla soymilk

2 large ripe bananas                                             1 tbsp Sucanat

2 tbsp almond butter or tahini                           6 – 8 ice cubes

1 tsp natural vanilla or 1/2 tsp almond extract



Blend all ingredients together in a blender until smooth and creamy.

Parmesan Garlic Bread (Serves 4)

4 slices sprouted wholegrain bread                  garlic powder (not garlic salt)

pure virgin olive oil                                              Parmesan cheese



Toast the 4 slices of bread.


With a pastry brush, lightly brush each slice of toast with olive oil.


Sprinkle about 1/2 tsp of garlic powder and 1 tsp Parmesan cheese on each slice.


Place the toast under the grill and broil until slightly crispy and lightly browned.


Serve immediately.

Cream of Tarragon Tomato Soup (Serves 4 – 6)

1 carton (26 oz) Pomi tomatoes                        1 small onion, coarsely chopped

2 medium cloves of garlic, minced                   12 oz (1-1/2 cups) GMO-free soft tofu

1 tsp Real Salt                                                        1/4 tsp black pepper

1/2 cup balsamic vinegar                                    1 tbsp fresh finely chopped tarragon



In blender, puree all ingredients except tarragon, until smooth, then blend until creamy.


Heat on top of stove just until hot, not boiling, to preserve nutrients.


Stir tarragon into hot soup.  Serve immediately.


Compliment the meal with Parmesan Garlic Sprouted Bread

We all need a little – or maybe a lot of – inspiration sometimes! Right? The quotes in this beautifully landscaped video speak for themselves. And everyone of the inspirational quotes and scenic views will speak to, and relate to, each of us differently. However, if you’re on any kind of  personal growth, or spiritual, journey at all, every quote here will have a specific meaning for you – albeit different from the meaning I or anyone else may hone from the same quote. We’re all unique beings with unique perspectives…and it’s all great!

It’s my belief that we, who work as solopreneurs, authors, speakers and conscious healers, absolutely must incorporate a dose of daily inspiration and motivation. Not just for ourselves! But also to share with our clients and patients, many who desperately need this kind of motivational and inspirational input. And it’s our job to provide this along with all of the other life strategies we offer.

As I discussed in yesterday’s post, we all need to change and upgrade our inner input so that our outer expression is of a higher quality. Personally, I feel that quotes of this caliber are one of the most useful “inner input” tools available. We all remember times when we were so far down that rabbit hole of negative stickin’ thinkin’ that nothing we desired seemed possible, or even worth the effort. And all it took was one little quote to lift our entire perspective, attitude and consciousness out of that bottomless pit, and send it soaring upward into a much more positive and proactive direction. Hence, elevating our attitude and our consciousness. Right?

Okay, let’s have some fun – and motivate and inspire each other at the same time. Anyway, what this means to me is that whatever I see around me in my life is a reflection of whatever is going on inside of me at that moment in time. So if I want to effect change in my life – in my outer world, I have to start by changing myself – in my inner world. So, I simply repeat this quote several times, then close my eyes and feel myself changing – positively – and see myself moving towards and reaching my desired outcome. It works every time! :-)

Well here we are three weeks into 2012! You started this new year full of enthusiasm for all of the great things you were going to accomplish this year. And if you’re like a lot of us, you’re feeling a bit anxious right now about the speedy passage of time in relationship to the amount of work, or rather lack thereof, that you have actually completed so far.

As a solopreneur, author, speaker or healer, with so much at stake, since there’s only a paycheck when a project is completed or a new client is added to the roster, it’s so easy to start feeling stressed about your job – whether you’re working at a home office or at an office somewhere outside of your home? If you find your attitude quickly “going south”- and “stickin’ thinkin’ has found a new home within you – then this short video is a “must-see” ASAP!

The first and most important step is to change your input about:

1) what you say to yourself and others (e.g. being a “fault finder” versus a “good finder”, blaming others versus taking personal responsibility)

2) what you think about (e.g. the problems with everything and everyone, and what you hate about your job versus expressing gratitude for all of the things you love about your job and your life)

3) what you’re feeling (e.g. feeling angst and stressed versus calm and relaxed and in the flow)

4) who you allow into your inner circle (e.g. negative, reactive energy sappers versus positive, proactive energy producers)

5) what you do with your spare time (e.g. self-indulgent, destructive habits e.g. eating and drinking too much, or adopting the couch potato, passive mentality versus getting off your seat and onto your feet and participating in your life, doing fun things with others or volunteering some time to help those less fortunate.)

As Zig Ziglar states: “When you change the input, radical changes take place in your life!” That, by the way, is a VERY good thing! And as he also states, “You won’t change anyone else until you change you.” I learned this one the hard way myself, thankfully before it took me out with cancer in 1989! Now I’m a Master at transforming my angst and stress into energy instantly! :-)
